Introducing The Starladder Kick-Off Season

Russian-based tournament organizer StarLadder will be hosting a $9,900 Hearthstone Kick-off Season tournament, beginning June 17. 16 players, 12 invites and 4 players who qualified through tournaments, will face off in 4 group stages, with the top 2 from each group moving on to double elimination rounds. The tournament will be hosting some of the top names in Hearthstone, including James “Firebat” Kostesich, Sebastian “Xixo” Bentert, Jason “Amaz” Chan, and others, boasting an incredible top tier lineup of play.

The group stages will play out on June 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th.

Prize Money:

1st place:   4,000$
2nd place:   2,000$
3rd place:   1,200$
4th place:   800$
5-6th places:   600$
7-8th places:   350$

The groups are:

Group A: Kolento, StrifeCro, StanCifka, Kalaxz

Group B: Iostov, Orange, Xixo, Neirea

Group C: Lifecoach, Gaara, Amaz, BoarControl

Group D: Firebat, ThijsNL, Foresen, RENMEN

This will be StarLadder’s first foray into the competitive card game arena, previously being known for their efforts in Dota 2 and CS:GO. With a very competitive prize pool and a list of strong names, StarLadder seems pretty serious about crashing into the Hearthstone scene and making their presence felt. The format for matches will be best of 5 single elimination, with the opening match of the event being between StrifeCro and Cifka.

Kolento vs Kalaxz – June 17th, 6:00 PM GMT

Group B:
Orange vs Lostov – June 18th, 5:00 PM GMT
Neirea vs Xixo – June 18th, 6:00 PM GMT

Group C:
Gaara vs BoarControl – June 24th, 5:00 PM GMT
Amaz vs LifeCoach – June 24th, 6:00 PM GMT

Group D:
Firebat vs ThijsNL – June 25th, 5:00 PM GMT
Forsen vs RENMEN – June 25th, 6:00 PM GMT

 

With talent-packed groups both weeks, the Hearthstone Kick-Off Season seems like a definite must-watch, and hopefully the beginning of many exciting events from StarLadder.
